Just thought I'd pop along and wish you folks a happy holidays. Or is
that season's greetings? I would say Happy Christmas, but that is laden
with religious overtones and is probably deeply offensive to non-Christian
people with no sense of perspective. And what of Tozzer 2 #3? Well,
it's running a bit late. It's a real bugger, but it can't be helped,
so please be patient, folks! It'll be worth the wait, honest. So anyway
- laugh, be merry and have a good one!

If you happen to flip through the January edition of Diamond's Previews
catalogue, you might notice a listing for our latest Tozzer
T-shirts, Tozzervoir Dogs. Yup, you can now order the shirts
through your local comic store, or they're available right now through
the Comic Guru.
The Diamond order codes for the 3 sizes are:
JAN052368 (Medium)
JAN052369 (Large)

There's a big 2-part
interview over at comicreaders.com, conducted by Chad
Boudreau and starring TeamTozzer (that'll be me and Pete then).
Thanks to Chad for coming up with some great questions and for putting
the whole thing together.
You can also check out Chad's review

OK, America - it's time to head down to your local
comic shop!
Tozzer 2: Episode II: Ate Mile hits the shelves tomorrow, so
please pop along and grab your copy before they all disappear. And if
it's not on the shelf then give your retailer a stern talking to. Then
whisper the code SEP042264 into their ear, and they'll get the
message.
I am now tired from all this plugging.

Also, it was the Memorabilia event last weekend and I've posted
up a little
report. You can see photos from the show in the About

That's all for now!

Hello world, time for an update.
First off, there's another sexy
beast of a cover to show you - Tozzer 2: Episode V: Hulk Fiction.
This is the final part of the Tozzer 2 series and it should be a blinder.
Also, Paul Gravett was kind enough to send me a review of Tozzer
and the Invisible Lap Dancers which he did for The Comics
Journal a while back. Pete and I both missed that review when it
came out, which is a shame as it's well-written and manages to make
the book sound half-intelligent. A miracle, I tell ya! So
go check it out!
In other news, there'll be a slight delay in the release of Tozzer
2 #5. It will now be solicited in February Previews (shipping
in April) - but will be worth the wait!
Now, don't forget, we've had a new batch of T-shirts printed!
In case you missed it, the design we chose was "Tozzervoir
Dogs". The only place in the world where they can be bought
right now is over at the Comics
Guru. They'll also be solicited in January Previews.
And finally - listen up England! In just a couple of weeks, we'll
be heading up to the NEC in Birmingham for the Memorabilia
event. We'll be exhibiting our goods, signing, sketching and chatting
all day on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of November.
There's going to be 25,000 people attending over the weekend, with 750
dealer tables, so it'll be worth coming along if you're within reach.
Say hello, we'll say hello back. What fun.
Enough! I am weary.

Three things!
1. Tozzer 2 #1 hits shelves in the US on Wednesday. At last!
2. Tozzer 2 #4 is solicited in this month's Previews (order code
NOV04 2274) so use any means necessary to ensure your retailer orders
plenty of copies!
3. The London Comic Festival was last Saturday, and I've
now posted up a report on the forum. Complete with pictures!
Yes, go look! Woo, I'll be off now.
Too many exclamation marks for one day.

Oi! Just a quick reminder that me and Pete will be sat behind a table
and chatting to comics fans on Saturday 23rd October (ie this weekend)
at the UK Winterfest. If
you can get to London, come along! The festival is at the Holiday
Inn in Bloomsbury all day from 10am, and there'll be lots of comics
stuff to do (mostly buying them and reading them). Pete's gonna be drawing
sketches for free all day, while I put my feet up and drink beer.
Tomorrow I'm picking up the new T-shirts from the printers, and the
day after that Tozzer 2 #2 is delivered, so this stuff will be on sale
on Saturday. Unless God conspires against us, which is not out of the
question given the random nature of divine intervention these days.

took so long, but we've been busy getting this issue ready for the printers.
So now you can see 4 pages of the finished comic (due for release in
November), starring Tozzer and world famous director Luke Gorgeous.
Read part 1 and part
2. I hope ya dig!
By the way, Episode III is advertised in this month's Previews
catalogue, so please be a sport and ask your retailer to order it. The
Diamond order code is OCT04 2276. Plug over!

Ok, so The
Comics Guru is now selling Tozzer
T-shirts.
They've got 2 designs, neither of which will ever be printed again,
and there's not much stock left, so I doubt they'll last long..
Also.. I've heard that Tozzer 2 #1 should be in UK stores on Thursday
30th September. When you get your hands on it, tell
us what you think, coz you guys are the reason we do this shit in
the first place. Well, that and the hot chicks 'n' fast cars. We'll
be setting up a forum soon too, so you can make your opinions known
and maybe start flame wars or seduce vulnerable teenagers or whatever
people do on the net.
And calling fans in the UK.. If you want to say hello, get a
free sketch, get your books signed, and get your hands on Episode
II before anyone else, then pop along to the comic
festival in London on October 23rd. We'll be there and we'll
be happy to entertain you with our amazing stories and tortoise juggling.
OR, if you're more of a northern type of person, then we'll be at the
NEC Birmingham on the 27th/28th November.

Tozzer 2 #1 hits the shelves! Woo! That's the good news. The
bad news is it's only available in one shop on the planet. The good
news is they're online and waiting for your order. You know the
place, folks - it's The
Comic Guru Presents.
So go there, now - be the first to own this damn fine comic! And receive
an instant karmic bonus from some devine being, or what have you. Rumour
has it the Comic Guru will be selling Tozzer T-shirts before anyone
else in the world too..
The rest of the UK will get Tozzer 2 #1 in a couple of weeks. If you're
in the US it'll be maybe 3-4 weeks.
Hey, that's not all. I've just posted up the cover
for Tozzer 2: Episode IV: Mattress Revulsions, which has got
to be the coolest cover in the series. Well done Mr Pete!

let me know and I'll love you forever.

Tozzer
2: Episode II: Ate Mile is listed in September Previews,
which should be on the shelves at your local comic store by now. Look
for the ad, scream with joy, place your order and then dance around
an' stuff.
But wait! There's a teeny typo. The book is listed as
"TOZZER #2 (of 5)", but the listing should actually say "TOZZER
2 #2 (of 5)". Not a huge mistake, but confusing nonetheless!
Retailers will be alerted to this error in Diamond Dateline in
the near future.

Boudreau has reviewed Tozzer 2 over
at comicreaders.com,
so go see
what he has to say.
He calls it “a dirty little bit of pleasure”, so I suppose it’s like
a Pot Noodle in many ways. If you don’t know what a Pot Noodle is, count
yourself lucky!
Can I also say that Tozzer 2 issue 2 is turning out to be pretty special,
and as for issue 3, well you may just die of pleasure. Especially if
you’re reading it while eating a Pot Noodle.

The
Comic Guru Presents.. Tozzer!
Wanna buy Tozzer comics online? No problem! We've teamed up with The
Comic Guru Presents to make your dreams come true (so long as you're
dreaming about buying copies of Tozzer - otherwise you're out of luck).
The Comic Guru is one of the UK's leading online comics
retailers, and they'll be keeping every issue of Tozzer in stock.
You can pre-order Tozzer 2 #1 from them right now, or grab a
copy of the first Tozzer book. And because the folks over at the Comic
Guru are such dudes, we'll be releasing the Tozzer comics through them
a couple of weeks before they hit shelves elsewhere. So if you
wanna be the coolest cat on the block, brandishing your copy of the
latest Tozzer before the other kids in the gang, you know where to look!
Go to the
site, click on OTHERS, and Ablaze Media is right at the top,
where it should be!
We selected these guys as our online retail partners because they've
got a slick site, they give great service and the head honcho is an
honest-to-god guru and an all-round top bloke. So there!
If you're ever in Cardiff, go check out the store too - it's a biggy!

Tiny
update special! Yes, I'm back so soon.
Glenn Carter, from Silver Bullet Comics, has written a
rather lovely piece on Tozzer 2 - so go
read it!
Also, here's something out of the blue. Anyone who's set foot in a comics
store in the last 30 years has surely heard of the über-talented Dave
Sim, he of Cerebus fame. Well, Mr Sim has written a few words
about Tozzer 2, which is kind of cool, really. I think there's some
irony going on here somewhere..
"Tozzer returns in Tozzer 2, a five-issue mini-series from Dunlop
and Lumby's Ablaze Media and the boys are really pushing the boundaries
of the suspension of disbelief with this one. I mean, "Mad Jax"? A black
pedophile with bleached skin, two ringlets and a snap-brim fedora who
travels everywhere with his pet chimp and who has spent so much money
on plastic surgery (how much has he spent on it?) who has spent SO MUCH
money on plastic surgery that he is LITERALLY the man with the billion-dollar
face? Come on! How implausible is that? Not to mention
a major supporting character. Literally. I can't mention the major supporting
character because the name is banned in this publication. Tozzer
2. You kiss your mother with that word-of-mouth?"
So there you go!

I
know, I know, lack of updates.. bad me.. smack myself on head. Well,
fear not coz here I am with a bagful of things to say. A small bag,
but a bag nonetheless.
First off.. I've put up more page samples from Tozzer 2 #1.
Hornie meets the Oracle
- woo, yes, enjoy.
Now hear this! Tozzer 2 #1 is in this
month's Previews (August
edition - page 199 - order code AUG04 2318), and it gets
a "Spotlight" (that's a good thing). For the uninitiated, Previews
is the monthly catalogue produced by Diamond, the big fish of comics
distribution. Every month, comic shops look in Previews, then
order their comics based on if they're as good as Tozzer. And - ooh,
look, there's a big shiny Tozzer 2 ad on page 200. As everyone knows,
page 200 is reserved for the best and most exciting comic of that month
(this is not actually true, but it sounds convincing, no?). Then on
page 202 Tozzer and the Invisible Lap Dancers
is offered again (order code STAR17209), just in case any misguided
individuals haven't yet purchased a copy.
If everyone in the western world tells their local
comic shop to order Tozzer 2 #1, then balance will be restored to
the universe. This really is true, honest.
Moving on! Over at Jazma
Online, the very nice Paul Dale Roberts has written a Tozzer
2 overview, which you can read
here. And there's more - he was also good enough to interview
me, so go click
here to read my rambling thoughts. Now, you might notice that Pete
was absent from the interview, but fear not! He was actually standing
right next to me dictating all my answers, so that makes it a joint
effort. In fact, I wasn't there at all - it was just a papier-mâché
model of me, which fooled everybody.
And finally, we put out a press
release last week to say something along the lines of "go on
buy Tozzer 2", which was rather sneaky of us. Only read it if you're
really bored though.
I'm off now, but I'll be with you in spirit, haunting you like an ethereal
stalker.

Bristol
is over. And I felt like shit, as I had some newfangled killer SARS
virus or something, so apologies to anyone who came over and said hello.
I probably wasn't very chatty. Pete
was his usual charming self though, so that kinda made up for it.
But hey, we sold a ton of books, got great feedback, and everyone at
the festival was unfeasibly friendly. Thanks to Kev and Mike for putting
together another great show.
So, the first batch of Tozzer 2 fans have
now been created. They roam the streets, scaring their families and
corrupting their neighbourhoods. Soon, there will be gangs of Tozzer
2 fans on every street corner, terrorising passers-by and spreading
the word, until the whole world is exposed to our mentally corrosive
comics.. Mwahahaha!
And in other news, we've had to push back the official release of Tozzer
2 by a month. So Episode I: Panic Doom will be launched in October
(appearing in August Previews). After that, it's monthly, until
the fifth (and final) issue.
From the responses we got at Bristol, Tozzer 3 is looking like it's
going ahead. It'd be rude not to - there are still so many souls left
to corrupt..
Adios!

So here's an idea - how about we actually update this web
site now and again, keep you guys informed as to where we're at and
what we're up to. Not a very revolutionary concept, I know, but hey,
better late than never! So keep your eyes peeled for more news and drop
us a line if you're really stuck for
things to do.
This is gonna be a big year for Tozzer, as Tozzer
2 is launched. After the release of Tozzer
and the Invisible Lap Dancers, we were inundated with feedback from
comics readers everywhere, but we decided to press ahead with the sequel
anyway (arf arf!). Tozzer and the Invisible Lap Dancers was the
first Tozzer book, and was released as a single A5-size graphic novel.
Tozzer 2 will be regular comic-sized, and released monthly as a 5-part
mini-series. The first instalment, Tozzer 2: Episode I: Panic Doom
will hit shelves in September 2004, and will be in the July edition
of Previews.
If you can't wait that long to get your hands on Panic Doom,
then there's good news if you're in the UK. We'll have a table at the
annual comic
festival in Bristol next month (May 29th-30th) and we'll
be selling Panic Doom - months before the official release date.
If you're there, come say hello, and we'll even sign your copy for you.
Oh, what joy!
So here's where we're at with the whole Tozzer 2 thingy. The script
for all episodes is finished and polished and funny as a puppy in a
blender. No, funnier than that, as a puppy in a blender's really not
that humorous - you might manage a chuckle, but the joke gets old pretty
fast. Unlike Tozzer 2. Anyhow, onto the artwork. Well, the art for Panic
Doom's wrapped up and it's looking pretty fab. Forget puppies and blenders,
we're talking cat in a washing machine at least. No, more than that.
What's so amazing about a cat in a washing machine, anyway? It's ten
times that amazing. Hell, why not see for
yourself!
Actually, the discs went off to the printer this morning, so as of this
moment I'm happy as a puppy in a blenderless household.
Take it easy there, internet-people.
